Now that 2025 is here we look ahead to our times of worship in January, especially the Annual Covenant Service at 11 am on 12 January which for many of us is one of the most significant of the entire year. The Covenant Service is a particularly Methodist practice. Its liturgy is weighty, potent yet joyful and and leads us in recommitment to follow the way of our Saviour Jesus. Don’t miss it! Sunday 19 January will strike a different note since after morning worship we shall share a post-Christmas roast lunch. All are welcome provided that you sign up in advance on the sheet in the Linkway - by Wednesday 15 January at the latest, please. Then, on Saturday 8 February we have Open House in the Dovetail Café from 10am to 1pm to celebrate the completion of the Accessibility Phase of our ‘30 Years on’ project. We wish to thank all those from Church and Community who have so generously given and raised funds for this project. We will offer free hot drinks and cake to all who want to come and see the results. There are now well designed, sparkling new toilets for users of the Hall side of the premises, including an accessible one. There is also a lift so that our upstairs rooms are available to all. Do come and see! We'll continue our celebratory weekend with a unique concert! On Sunday 9th February we invite you to….If Music Be The Food Of Love This is a concert especially put together for us by music students at The University of Southampton. It is led by our organist/pianist Agnes with a special appearance from pianist and University of Southampton tutor Duncan Honeybourne! The concert is at 2.30pm with an interval halfway for tea and cake. Admission is free. Donations for the '30 Years On' project will be welcome as we strive to reach our fundraising target. |
