Alpha Parenting Course
Wednesday 4th February 2015: 7.30pm
John Andrews and Jane Padley are hoping to run the Alpha Parenting Course on Wednesday evenings in February, starting on the 4th February. It is for those parenting 0 to 10 year olds.
The Mums and Minis group looked at it last year and found it a very helpful resource – interesting, inspiring and full of practical tips. Over five sessions parents and care givers learn how to invest in their child’s future and model values they want to pass on, set healthy boundaries and keep love at the centre of family life.
The talk topics are:
1. Building Strong Foundations
2. Meeting our Children's Needs
3. Setting Boundaries
4. Teaching Healthy Relationships
5. Our Long-Term Aim.

Each of these sessions will last a couple of hours including tea and coffee, snacks, talk, D.V.D clips and time for guests to complete exercises and discuss relevant issues.

The talks on the DVD are led by Nicky and Sila Lee. They mention how their Christian faith has made a difference to their family and the values they have wanted to pass on, but in a way that is not off-putting for those who are not churchgoers.

With Mums and Minis we found this hugely encouraging, and inspiring just finding out you are not alone in what you are going through with your little one and sharing together was fantastic.

The Parenting course really is for everyone whether they feel all is going well or they are facing challenges. It was so good, in fact, that we got the course for Parenting Teenagers also, so if you would be interested in that please let Jane or John (07809 616 775) know.

Elizabeth Ruff says: “I watched the Parenting Course with Mums and Minis – it was brilliant! I wished that we had seen it when we were bringing up our children – they did well in spite of us, but we could have done so much better if we had followed this course then.”
